hmmm. front brake...check. brake lever...check. brake cable/housing...? Did you forget to do this?

The brake cable after it exits the grip tape looks very forced and not natural. Does your rear brake "stick"?

edit:: okay, i just read the other thread, the cable and housing is on its way. But I still think you can do a better cable route to the rear. Also, you should really consider using the left lever for the front so the routing will be smoother.

no, not at all, works grt. the kink is not too bad. no, did not forget....waiting to get skinny gumwall tires then hooking up the front brake (even "decompressed" it will not clear the 35's).

My Steamroller frame is the old 1" head tube version but looking thru this thread it seems like 99% of bikes pictured here are threadless.

This is the John Deere Steamroller.
A friend of mine (mechanic/welder) built this bike.
Welded brake bridge, cable stops, and fender mounts on. Powdercoated john deere green and frame saved.
Massive clearance center pull tektro brakes.
Truvative rouleur cranks, geared low for winter.
King headset.
Handbuilt wheels--phil on the front, paul on the rear. DT swiss spokes.
Panaracer 32 crosstown on the front, panaracer 32 urban max on the rear. Planetbike fenders.

This thing is a joy to ride through the brutal Chicago winter.
It's kinda dirty right now...

That John Deere Steamroller is cool, but for all of that welding and changing it to use canti brakes, couldn't you have just gotten a Crosscheck?

While I thought the same thing, maybe he had the Steamroller frame already. Plus the Crosscheck is 132.5 mm spacing in the back. This setup lets you use a standard 120 mm track wheel. Plus it is unique.

What years did the roller have a threaded fork? That is the first one I've seen and I'm a big fan.

^^Nitto RB-021s

New bars, stem, seat post (was Nitto S-83, now Nitto S-65) and tires. Wheels are the same, just de-stickered. And yes, I de-Appled it.

It is raining here in brooklyn, so i finally got around to taking some pictures.
This is a 09 teamroller with a mix of parts:

-Velocity areoheads on formula hubs with 32 panaracer ribmos (they ride like sponges but I have not got a flat since i put them on), this wheelset is on it's way out, i have B43's laced to dura ace hubs in mind for a graduation present to myself
- Shimano 600 cranks and BB (from my old trek 5200 RIP)
-vintage campagnolo weird seatpost
-brooks b17 standard saddle
-origin 8 risers with brown oury grips
-sh*thouse nashbar stem (im looking for a 3TTT mutant which will match the seatpost...kinda, if you have one to sell and are in new york, ill take it!)
-dirt harry lever with long reach tektro caliper
-KMC koolchain SL (or something)
-really...really old nashbar clipless pedals
