Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? i used them on my mountain bike for a while (about 20 years ago), before SPD pedals became affordable.

the current version look identical to what i had (sans neon colouring).

i rather liked them. they were far easier to use effectively than clips and straps (particularly in mud, which probably isn't an issue for you).

they will scuff the crap out of your crank arms if you ride for any length of time with the pedals upside-down, though. so if you're going to use them, use them. or accept the uglification of your cranks.

your mileage may vary.

good deal. if it helps, i love mine. have em on my kilo tt. easy in, easy out, dont have to reach down to tighten straps(i never really learned how to do this on a fg), and cheap. hope they work out for you

I, too, have them on my Kilo. I love 'em. I'm probably going to sell my Kilo soon (stupid sucky economy) but I'm going to keep the PowerGrips pedals/straps.

Yeah, there are several threads on this, including one I started last month because I wasn't happy with them. After riding them for several weeks, I'm still not happy with them, so I stand as an example of someone who's used them and still hates them. I'm going back to clips.

I've used em ever since going fixed. Never looked back. Like everyone has said already, easy in and easy out, never need to adjust them except maybe a quick wiggle of my foot. Simple and effective.

I can agree with everything but effective. I'm still not comfy skipping/skidding with them, even after trying numerous tension adjustments and even different shoe types. They just don't hold tight enough when there's a lot of upward pull, even when I've got them adjusted ridiculously tight. Maybe it's b/c I'm on GR-9's, with a relatively narrow platform, but I'm committed to the pedals, so it's back to clips for me. Others seem to have much better luck with powergrips.

I could be a bit biased as I have never tried clips/straps for more than a few minutes, but I dont have any issues skidding/skipping with them. I wear really plain shoes though. Vans eras which might or might not help
