Track nuts in drop outs question

Bike: old Fuji Allegro
Drops: semi-horizontal
Chain: 1/8 inch Wipperman
Chainring: 42t Superbe
Cog: 16t/18t
Drivetrain: fixed gear

Questions: Is it dangerous to ride bike if track nuts are tightened down at open end of drop outs because chain length with 18t cog doesn't allow wheel to be pulled back? Should I add a half-link for safety's sake?

Gratitude: Thanks!

How close is it to the end?

Chances are if you are concerned, then it will be better to add a half link for piece of mind alone.

The track nut is nearly fully on the dropout. No significant (if any) overhang.

Sounds like you're fine. Post a pic to be sure.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I think I'll add the half-link.
