Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

those who have a pake

how much does your bike weigh fully built up?

i have an old schwinn conversion and want something a bit lighter than this frame which seems to be made of solid lead. pake is around a good price range for me.

Or if you may know of a cheaper aluminum frame besides leader i would gladly take a look at them all.

thanks

Its lighter than my friends stock Kona Paddywagon, lighter than another friends Masi Speciale, and lighter than yet another friends Schwinn conversion.

Its not as light as I want it yet, but oh well.

23, but I've got V's, a Brooks, and other non-weight considered components on there. Depending on what your build/budget is, you can make it as light as you need it to be.

Anything is lighter than a Schwinn(except the high end ones). My Pake is 20lbs,same as my Nishiki conversion. My Shogun and Sterling are 19lbs.I guess you don't like Leader, but my 725 weighs 18lbs with V's.

i like the leaders just curious what other affordable aluminum frames are around.

my thoughts have changed since i made the post so the pake comment shouldn't have been the title.
