Original single speed touring. a pictorial.
Here are some photos from a recent unsupported week long tour I went on with my c1920 single speed racer. Out of thirteen cycletourists, seven were on the original fixed gear - Penny Farthings. The rest of us were on single speed "safteys". We did 400km over a week.
On the first day of the tour.
The 1896 dual steer tandem.
On Day Two.
Morning Tea on day two.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT - and a very big Kia ora to you mate! I'm very envious and happy to see things like this occur. You should bike over to Napier next Feb. for the Art Deco Festival! Was there in 2001 and thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is great! How much road vibration do Penny Farthings transmit?
It is things like this that make me love bicycling and bicycling culture.
Also, I feel the need to point out that asking about gear inches would be a little more special in this thread than most other threads.

Also, I love this person's style:
Are you able to ask them what brand of pants those are and where one might find them?

This is great stuff.
On a related note, I want to see a penny farthing bike with a disk wheel or a trispoke or something.
