Aerospoke wheels and hubs
If you decide on a Aerospoke wheel or HED wheel, you don't have much choice of the hub do you?
Do they usually come with hubs pre-installed? Are replacements for those kind of wheels more expensive than regular hubs?

I see, so no big difference.
I first thought getting an Aerospoke wheel would be more expensive, but seems that a regular rim with spokes and hubs, is gonna cost me just about the same.
Maybe Aerospoke is the way to go.

I am looking here
Theyre a rip off.
Probably one of the most expensive places to buy parts in Tokyo, except maybe for their upstairs neighbor.

What exactly are you looking for?
If you're ok with used stuff you should definitely just use Yahoo auctions.
I could suggest other places depending on what you're looking for.
Even buying from Rene in Osaka ( https://njsframes.blogspot.com/ ) will be cheaper than w-base or any of the other boutiques in the city.

yeah, actually yahoo auctions is probably the best way to go. I'll see what I can find there. but anything is cheaper used. My point was that a new rim with spokes and hub is gonna run me about the same as a new aerospoke wheel. of course you can find one or the other cheaper if you buy it used.

You can definitely get new parts for cheaper than an errorspoke in Japan.
Probably the cheapest and best people to deal with online will be https://www.takizawa-web.com/shop-tra...track_top.html
Theyre really great and will even ship COD.
Ive bought tons of parts from them.

yeah Aerospokes are sooo lame. They used to look cool but now they are just played out. Plus they are really heavy. And expensive. And ugly unless you really coordinate them with the right bike. I saw a blue cheapo motobecane ebay frame with a red Deep V on the back and a red aerospoke on the front. I think it was the ugliest bike i have ever seen in my life.

If your going to get an arrospok, get a rear, it makes a cool sound while riding.
But seriously, a decent wheelset (low flange Phils or Pauls) can be had for pretty cheap, and will last you forever. I recently traded one of my wheels for an arrospok, and while its sorta cool, it is heavy.
