My first fixed gear. I went the cliche' Pista route. Stripped it down to chrome, put some riser bars on it, and haven't done a whole lot else.

Trading up later this week for a SE Lager White...which I'll probably screw with.

Also...yes, I'm aware my seat is pushed down all the way. I had just got done stripping clearcoat/decals and had it pushed down while working on it.

Nice bike! I didn't know you could get the Crystal Fellow in black. Is it custom?

Yeah it was on limited release by T19 (originally a skateboard company in Tokyo). They also did a crystal fellow stem as well as aluminum B123AA or riser handlebars in black or blue....

Yeah it's for the front brake, which was a bit big and scratched the DT

"HI STEVE!! I think ur bike cost more than the Exige"

Thanks for the compliment, but my bike wasn't too expensive! The frame was a good deal, around $700 from Gabe at NJS export here in Japan... You look at the latest carbon Tour-style bikes and maybe you get close to Exige prices....

Decided to flip over my bullhorns just for fun, but to me surprise these are actually a lot more comfortable. Too bad it look a little goofy, but i think i might keep it that way.

take tubing cutters and cut off the ends of the bars where they turn up a little (cheap promenade bars) and put some cruiser grips on that bad boy and role baby

I got it online from Gabe, he's got some good deals:
https://njsframes.blogspot.com/

Did you move out to Kichijoji area? I usually head over to Yoyogi for greenery. I'll be moving to Hiroo soon which is a lot better for family life.

it's a company that makes bike parts. The black and gold bike posted above is based on a track frame made by Leader. They make a couple of different track frames. You can buy their stuff online, just google it.

Done. I kept the bartape though since i have no cruiser grips. However the bike looks ace with the edges cut out, plus it's roughly five times more comfortable

Think about it for maybe half a second.

Although they still look far enough forward that it probably won't be an issue.

the tilt of my upper body doesn't have an effect on my lower body. When I switch from drops to bullhorns, etc, I don't notice any difference w/ my knees. Such forward bars would hurt other body parts more so than it would the knees.

EDIT: NEVERMIND, I just realized you are probably referring to the fact that it would be easy to bang one's knees on the bars in that position. I didn't think of that
