Yeah man...that's been around a while. I don't think you were here for the initial shockwave.

This animated gif is way better:

That girl in the skirt looks like more of a dude than Scrod does. *Shudders* No offense to you, Scrod. I'm just mortified.

It's also easier to trackstand in a lower gear. Since I'm riding short distances at a time, I can maintain a higher cadence of 100+ rpms, which works out to over 20mph. Also, I can use this bike for social easy rides with friends who are less athletic than me or to loosen up my legs on track race training rest days.
I see, I'm riding a longer distance, also using it in freewheel not fixed. And in that, my social rides, I can keep my rpm's lower, coast & even brake. Miami is definitely flat, but the 2 bridges I take on twice on the ride, I make a good run at it and never leave the seat with the 46x16. I'm definitely going slower at the crest of the bridge, but the speed run and ramped walkway, I'd say I'm still at 50 and dropping to 25-30 % or so of what I hit the bottom of the upside of the bridge in the last quarter of the grade. And that lower third to half of the 3/4 of the upside, I'm actually gaining a slight increase, just a little more speed too, to make the last quarter of the upside still at a respectable clip, that is unless the thigh's start to fatigue and burn a little.

There's no way I can maintain high rpm's of a weaker gearing setup in June & July. It's so humid here and the air so hot and heavy depending the time of day. Texas has got to be similar, perhaps in the southernmost part of the state ? This AM though, I rode between 6-6:30 and it was nice and cool, but the humidity was a wet feeling cool. Last Sunday I made the mistake of trying the ride around 10:30-11 AM and maintaining the pace was sheer torture. I was very close, but at the end of the front end of the 30+ mile loop, I was literally wiped out and glad that ride was broken out from the start in the mid AM to 7 PM when I headed home. The evening run was warm, but definitely bearable.

I also now see by fun, you mean the trickier riding skills, I can't do those, don't even want to try either, it's an age issue with me.

Another thing is I go 5' 10" and depending the season 185-203 lbs, The 46x16 gearing, I can get that going, but like you indicated, it's harder on the legs. Won't say knees because I don't really feel that there with the seat height adjustment and the bike is pretty light, so it gets under way easier than I thought ? With the longer ride, it's not crucial I peg the acceleration out of the blocks, with the higher gearing, I can make up that in the long run.

I also found that running into a road bike group , those riders can motivate me a little more and push me harder.

We have very similar setups. My NJS frame also has DA to OP wheels and an aero seatpost and similar bars to the ones you have on there now. I like this bike a lot. I don't think I would have gone w/ black (i'm more of a neon green or hot pink kinda guy) but at least you won't get sick of it...

What I like about this bike is that it looks very unassuming. Unless one knows about fine track parts, the bike doesn't look all that special. Flat black and silver. No colour and no decals. Very nice! Must ride like a dream too.

Urinals aren't an option for me. I always get the question, "Kevin, why don't you urinate in the bathroom?" My response is usually, "Well, if you look at the trajectory of my pee, it's not ideal to use a urinal or a toilet. As you can see, (Shows Pee Trajectory) when you're outside, you don't have to aim for anything."

Whatever happens after that is very unpredictable. But usually it ends in... /friendship.

    Lol.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm comfortable with this stem. I think it's 140 mm. Lol.

Thanks! Those are actually Navigator Pista wheels with Novatec hubs. And yes they're both 28H.

Like the unusual trajectory of my piss, the content of my piss makes the bike have this sheen.

    Lol
