I use my track bike outside. We have a business park here in VA which is a 6 mile loop where most cyclists go. There, we have our own lane.
With riding my bike outside and putting it to use comes dirt and grime. I use water and soap to clean my bike. I dry it with an Absorber right after clean up and relube the chain. I don't see what's wrong with that.

not big on blasting bikes with water, what with my loose ball bb and hubs. hate riding in rain because it means a repack like every 1-2 weeks.

I wash my bikes with a hose. I just use normal pressure though. No attachments. I have yet to have any issues with that method.
