Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

If it's a freewheel bike, you need two brakes.

Never needed to touch a rear brake on any of my freewheel bikes. Smart to have one I guess.

Word of advice: I've never had my seatpost backwards. Read again carefully.

83' Reighley I just built for my friend, the bulletproof cranks came with the frame, i'm on the lookout for something more classic looking to replace it with, same with the saddle.

Hey guys, new to the board. I'm a student at Oklahoma State University and was persuaded by a couple of my professors to get myself a road bike.

I bought a used 1970s (?) Centurion Cavaletto and started from there.

Centurion Frame/Fork, black powder coated
Eighthinch Amelia 700c wheelset
Eighthinch 160mm 46T crankset
Bontrager pedals/straps
Brooks B17 narrow
Bullhorn bars
etc.

I just got the bike done last week. The roads are still covered in ice so I'll have to wait awhile until I can take it out and get more pics.

Don't think I've posted a pic of this since I added the Aerospoke...

Finally getting a new fork next month (carbon, straight blade).
