Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

The Cannondale and the Surly are awesome.

I always thought the Paul Racer brakes would be perfect for a steamroller. What rims/hubs are those?

If you are asking about my Steamroller, the hubs are Phil Wood and rims are Ambrosio Excellight SSC

I was thinking of posting the single-speed I just built, but seeing how beautiful most of these are, mine really doesn't have place here.

I've never seen someone run time rxs on fixed, it's usually spd, atac, or eggbeaters. They're great pedals though, nice builds.

I am running them because I just switched to clipless last summer. Those pedals were in our used parts box so they were free and I got a pair of Sidi shoes with the right clips from a club member for free. Everything just went together to easy to change parts. Im loving them. Dont think I will swap them out for anything else.

Thanks man. I built it beginning of last summer. Did all my commuting on it. Estimate about 2200 miles in three months. I gave it a good cleaning over the winter. Got her dirty for the first time this year yesterday. Gotta say though, the Schwalbe tires dont seem like a good choice in my area. Only about 20 miles on them and the rear is allready showing some rough sections in the center with no skidding at all. I just have some horrible roads around here. Might put my gatorskins back on.

To me a stem is a stem. Its not a performing/moving part. The only thing to me that would perhaps matter is weight difference or rise-drop
