It's what gets the comments, but (I'm assuming) there are a lot of people lurking around here who appreciate shiny close-up pictures without feeling a need to say "hey, nice job installing the bars. You didn't screw it up!" Me for one. If you don't have anything negative to say, don't say anything at all.

AAAAAAFTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are no spacers in the pic, had to file off the little notches on the inside of the rings.
The fork was cut down, so there wasnt that little wedge on the steerer tube, when it was re-threaded.
New:
Self painted original steel Cannondale Track fork.
B43 laced to double fixed Phil.

probably so. i'm thinking about getting a 46t chainring or whatever its called. would that make it better for wheelies/faster speeds?

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
Let me add some food for thought. The larger the ratio the more time the wheels spin and the more time the wheels spin the more distance out with each crank rev. But, consider the second part of this...the distance you get out.. For each turn on the small wheel, you get less distance, so you want one turn of the crank to turn that wheel a bunch of times so you can get the same distance as a reg 700c wheel . If we made the incorrect assumption that the diameter of a 20" wheel was half of 700c wheel, you would literally want a gear setup that lead the wheel to spin twice as much as a 700c wheel. It's pretty cool if you wrap your head around it. The problem comes when you try to talk about gear ratios across different bikes.. Sheldon B suggests gear inches.. https://www.sheldonbrown.com/gears/...I love bikes
The road bike runs a 52:17 and to compensate for the smaller wheel size the Twenty needs a 52:14 gearing.
The smaller 406 mm wheel will rotate approximately 1.5 times for every turn of a 622 mm wheel and 1.5 as fast at given speeds... this affects tire life to some degree and you can notice this when you try and skid stop or back brake as a 406 wheel turning at 30 kmh will feel like a 622 spinning at 45kmh.
Another plus with the Twenty is that it is freakishly stable, very nimble, and those smaller bmx wheels can take hits that would crush many road wheels.

needs a proper wheelset...those wheels are from my daily beater. i have some 1979 low flange superbe (non NJS) track hubs and was thinking to lace them to araya golds...gum wall tubulars are a must. the frame is from 1981 and has some fantastic work on it. i honestly think kono built it himself. i'd eventually like to make the entire bike era specific but too many projects, not enough cheese.
