Doing a conversion on schwinn continental
the other day i passed a yard sale and saw some bikes outside they had a world traveller but it was to big for me and this continental. they sold it to me for 5 bucks. it was a impulse buy.
it has some surface rust on the frame and the paint is starting to rub of. well in the classic and vintage forum they said it wasnt worth alot of cash, or even a top of the line bike.
but i was thinking about doing a conversion on it. do you all think it is possible or am i wasting my time.
i know the dropouts are a problem and i have heard that schwinns are a pain in the ass to convert...
so what should i do with it keep it as is or spend time on it doing a conversion.

biggest problem with that bike is the one piece crank. Also the bike is a total tank. Really heavy, I have one I converted and I like it but I like big heavy bikes, I used a bunch of crap parts I had around so I really only cost $20-30 for things like a BB converter.
But a $5 investment, I would just leave it as is and buy a hour, it will be the same price virtually of that conversion.
