For you Surly owners out there.....

Heys folks I was looking at the post of all the Surly's, very nice lookin' bikes BTW. Anyway there was some talk about people wanting to remove the surly decals. I have a surly long haul trucker and the easiest way to remove these decals is to simply cover them with a piece of duct tape and give her a rip! the entire decal will come off with the tape.

Anyway I hope this helps some of you, quite a bit easier than some of the other methods that were discussed. Take care....

Didnt work on my Steamroller but good heads up for those it will work on...

Mine was simple. Hairdryer to soften the adhesive up a bit and the edge of a CD to flake it all off. The powdercoat is bulletproof and looks flawless after the decals are off.

Goiing to try that this week. I'm thinking of using a hair dryer first to soften the glue, then use the duct tape trick.

I don't think you will need to warm up the glue, mine came right off with no problem. Try the small front or rear ones first to gauge if they come off easily

Sounds pretty cool. I took the decals off of my LHT the tedious heat-n-scrape way, or I'd give it a shot.

I agree with RichPugh, a video would be great.

I would post a video if I had not already done it

My brother and I were both completely shocked at what quick work duct tape did
