Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

S3X Builds - What are you planning?

I know I want the hub, but haven't decided on frame, wheels, etc. yet.

SO....for those you you planning on buying the hub, do you know what the rest of your 3 speed fixed gear will look like?

I am concerned about hub bearing race/cone quality. I'd probably keep the three speed on my carlton frame.

Srsly, I scrounged an old [and very heavy, steel] high flange Shimano hub and I plan to use it to build my first wheel so when/if the S3X becomes available I'll have some wheel building experience to draw from when building it up. Yay for self-betterment.

My hub.
