Out back, I have a powdercoated rasta deep-V laced with custom twisted 3x Crowsfoot pattern with red, white and blue aero carbon spokes. Hub is old skool Campag track hub circa 1950 (bought the set as NOS), powdercoated pink with a Surly cog in rear and NJS dura-ace lockring.

Up front, I run a 24" spinergy carbon racing wheelchair wheel , which I had painted to match my favorite pair of vans. I run old Soviet ceramic bearings and TI axles.

Look hot on my Schwinn Cutter.

... what day is it?

Rear Wheel:
Velocity Deep V NMSW White
Dt Swiss Gold Alloy Nipples
Dt Competition Black Spokes
Phil Wood Dual Track Hub Powder Coat white
Spoke pattern is a 3 Cross Radial Mix

Front Wheel:
Velocity Deep V NMSW White
Dt Swiss Gold Alloy Nipples
Dt Competition Black Spokes
Origin 8 Front Track Hub Powder Coat White
Spoke Pattern is a One Cross

The rear wheel is holding up fine, when my wheel builder finished it for me, he insisted that I would have a few broken spokes in a few weeks time. So far, nothing bad has happened but I have yet to put the first thousand on it yet. We'll see.

If anyone wants to see more pics, reply and I'll post some.

The Blue Stuff around the lockring? I have every reason to believe that it's loctite, as in many cases you wouldn't want that slipping off. Why grease on the lockring, then? Do you switch out cogs frequently?

I know because I installed it. You don't need locktite for a lockring if you install it properly. Grease is for keeping the cog and lockring from seizing to the hub.

so that his lockring doesn't become a permanent fixture on his hub.

If it has threads, grease it.
