DT Swiss R1.1
Simple question here, Anybody tried the Dt swiss RR1.1 rims?? I'm planning on building a set of rim it's either RR1.1 32h with ultegra front hub and miche pista rear or open pros.

I just chose Open Pros over the R1.1 for a 28-hole build. Both are great rims though. Use DT Competitions or Revs... they are great spokes.

They're they only box section clincher rim I'd consider other than Open Pros. Great (consistent!) quality, light weight.

Honestly you can't do better for a quality multi-purpose road rim. Both the Open Pro (obviously from Mavic) and the RR1.1 from DT are fantastic.

I have DT RR1.1, Mavic Open Pro and Ambrosio Excellence,they are all good choices.
Try Miche hubs+Ambrosio rims, just to be different.

it'd be nice if they offered a ceramic or hard ano option, but unfortunately they don't. otherwise they're great— the hoops arrive truer than most.

I'm waiting on another RR1.1 to replace the old DA16 I killed on my brevet bike, and I'm currently running an RR1.1 on a SON28 laced 32h 3x with Champion 2.0 spokes up front and an Open Pro 32h 3x laced with 14/15db spokes to an Ultegra in the rear.
They're both nice rims, but I prefer the DT RR1.1 single. It's lighter (just by a little bit, and I'm not a weight weenie, but on a distance bike certain things like rotational weight do help). It's slightly deeper section gives it a tiny bit more rigidity. But most of all, it's quieter! I don't know what the difference in materials/design is, but damn the Open Pro is a freakin' noisy wheel! Chip-sealed roads make the thing sound like it's about to vibrate apart. It's like the rim is an amplifier for road noise.

My part supplier is out of DT rr 1.1 so I just bought a white 36h velocity deep V and laced it with a miche pistard instead since I already had a front white deep V with a ultegra 6600 hub.. It"ll do the job for now.
