Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

for some reason and hour on the trainer makes my ass hurt more than 6+ on the road.

I find trainer workouts to be tougher than anything else. I'd rather do 3 hours hard on the road than 1 hour on the trainer. Tomorrow morning I've got a trainer workout scheduled: 15 min warmup, 20 min big gear (53 x 13) at 60-70 rpm, 10 min recovery, repeat. I'm supposed to stay in heart zone high 3 to low 4 during this, arg!

It's going to be a mix-match build for sure but with <$200 into it for a complete not bad I think. I'll prob CL the frame I got now so might end up paying for a good chunk of that.

Just got the 44T Stronglight chainring to replace the stock 48T Sugino. It cost $19.50 shipped from Wheel & Sprocket (normally $40) and about 1/2 the cost of a Sugino. Very nice quality, made from 7075-T6, perfect fit and match for the Sugino RD2 crank.

No, just two different users have the same generic avatar. You are not allowed to register under 2 different user names. That is called a sock, and it will get you banned. It's best to make your own avatar, like mine of me tearing it up on the velodrome.

The hex heads we're quick to start to strip out, and when I switched them off, the heads were actually starting to crack off. Perhaps I got particularly crappy aluminum bolts.
