Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Ordered a Bag of Crap and a couple items for my wife's bike from icycles.

Quill Stem
Origin 8 Risers

In my BoC got:

Giant Heart Rate monitor watch (pretty nice)
Unbranded threadless Stem 110mm 10*
Profiler frame bag
Some generic underseat cellphone bag
Parktool wrench
Shimano 3 speed shifter
Set of Shimano MTB style brake levers (great b/c I don't need to buy some for my wife's risers )
Brake cable
Brake pads
Bunch of random colored spoke nipples & misc parts for 1 1/8 headset.

Not bad for $5

Hmm..I'm thinking about ordering the B-o'-C.
If I can score some decent brake pads and cables then I figure it will have been money well spent.

IMO it's prob only worth it if you need to order some other items along with it. Just checking out the BoC my shipping was like $12. I needed some risers which happened to be on sale for $10 and a shorter quill stem which they had a 60mm w/ a higher rise which she wanted. Shipping was $14 with everything so not a bad deal

CC/Vixtor - Have you compared a 1000W Radbot to a 500W?

1000 and 500 are both bright as ****.

consider the 500 a superflash with a reflector and a pulse wave mode, consider the 1000 a brighter version of that. the 1000 is ... umm... i don't think i'll be using those flashlights in the rear anymore i'll just say that.

plus amazon has them for the same price as a knog boomer and having one that clips and one that grips is expert

Yea, I have some crappy free Planet Bike blinkies that are running out of batteries. I figured I might as well snag up a nice set of lights that I'll actually be able to see with. The Amazon price is very attractive at the moment.

Any experience with the Spaceship? Would I be able to see the road, or is it just strong enough for drivers to see me?

Kinda crazy how Amazon has the PDW 1000 cheaper than the 500.
Just under $19 (with free 2 day shipping) for the 1W vs $24 shipped for the .5w.
I think I'm going to buy one. One can never be too well lit, I suppose.

Would you be willing to do a review of the Rambler? I'm real interested, mainly in whether I should get the Rambler or the Vandal. Do you carry camera gear in there?
