Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Either ask for 60mm or 80mm valved tubes. Also you can get valve extenders and then you can use almost any tube you want!

ive heard mixed experience with valve extenders so im trying to avoid them. you think 48mm or 51mm valves will fly with 42mm?

51mm will probably work but it will definately be cutting it close
If they have something bigger just get the bigger one, usually no extra cost

i can get those slightly shorter long ones cheaper, but i think ill just go with something at least 60mm to be safe. to be on topic, i have not just bought h plus sons.

You can rock the 51's, but they may not be long enough to get your pump to "lock" on to the valve. There is a solution though. Get 1 of those presta to schrader adapters. That will give you enough extra to use a pump on the short valve!

Scored this yesterday...

For this...

I suspect that the saddle may be even older than the bike... it (the bike) is a 1948.
