Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

My bike came today..I won't mention what it is since I'll be called a noob 12 times over. Gotta start somewhere, tho. Legs were a little shaky after not being on a bike in nearly 16 years.

I should probably stop reading this forum - forums usually tend to make simple things into expensive hobbies.

Premium bundle with soft HRM strap. Time to start training in actual HR zones, and logging all my rides (my cell phone always dies when logging with GPS before finishing any decently long ride). I feel weird buying a computer that costs more than most of my bikes, but it'll be worth it, right?

Got my GR-10s, cages and straps from Scrod today. Installed them along with the Selle Turbo saddle i ordered previously. The little monsters that come in the packages are pretty hilarious. Carry on.

Love my 722TS.

Zone training improved my speed by SO much. I need a new damn HRM though.

I picked up some new cleats for after I get used to clipless with the old, worn down cleats Nag sent me. And not for the bike itself, but the Chrome stock cobra is soon to be on its way, and I'm pretty stoked about that, only being $40.

Wasn't really planning on it haha. I just wanted to go for a few shorter rides around town/campus to get used to clipping in and out while moving and stopping. I know I'm going to fall, so I figure I might as well do it with cleats that are already messed up so that walking and standing up doesn't ruin my brand new ones.
