What Did You Just Buy For Your Bike?
Your cog is slipping.
I've sent back several A23s with spoke holes that haven't been drilled all the way through and even more with extremely uneven joint seams. It seems QC was much better when their factory was in Australia.
Still kicking.
The not been drilled all the way through is what I've been hearing. I'm interested to see how the Continentals will be fairing now that they shifted production to completely outside of Germany.

Do you mean the tires ? I just got some 2014 GP4000s ones, and they seem to be very well made.
Fresh Garbage
The rims were ordered from their cosmetic defect sale list, so we'll see what happens. I'm more let down by Dan's news on the gloves. I seem to have no luck with gloves lasting

Don't worry, I'm in the same boat with gloves lasting. Had a pair of fox gloves that lasted all of one week and the seam between the thumb and pointer finger on the right glove failed. Next time you need gloves go with either Giro or TLD, I have had some luck with those.

Things I just bought for my bike:
Frame, fork, headset, stem, bars, grips, brake lever, brake, bb, crank, chain, lockring, freewheel.
This will go well with the pedals, saddle, and seatpost I already have. Plus the Philwood hubs I just built up with Mavic Open Pro rims, DB spokes...
Cheap-ish Pake Rum-runner build.
Merry Christmas to me.

- Velocity Synergy wear through at the rim in less than 3k mi. Def a WTF thing, they were mystified, too.
- sent replacement 650b rim when I ordered 26" rim
- replacement 26" rim, one of the eyelets pulled out JUST AS I WAS NEARING FINAL TENSION. Gah!
However, they were real good making things up to me, sent me a complete wheel at insane price, below even EP cost.
Mismatched NOS Mavic rims gathering dust in the back of the shop is what I'm building up now. No experience with HPlus Son beyond one build, but I really like and recommend DTSwiss rims at the moment. I'm not a fan of Stan's rims, either.

This is what you should expect:
If you're weary about it getting easily dirty, you shouldn't worry too much about it because they're coated in a waxy polymer like gripy layer of goodness. A wipe down after a ride would do the job easily.

I bought a lot of stuff the last couple of months but haven't listed them yet:
Components:
Ultegra 6700 12-25 cassette
Ultegra 6700 brakeset, silver (deal off of local craigslist)
3T Aero Bar Ski Bend Alloy Extensions (ebay deal)
Rotor Q-rings Silver 53/40 (deal off of slowtwitch)
Rotor Aero QXL Rings 53/38
Ultegra 6600 Left Shifter, Double (ebay)
Dura Ace 7800 Front Derailleur and Crank Arms w/6700 BB (Slowtwitch deal)
Shimano Freewheel, 7 speed 14-28 (for the old school downtube shifter steel road bike I have still)
Tools:
Park Tool Shimano Freewheel removal tool
Park Tool Internal Nipple Wrench/Driver (3 prong)
Park Tool WAG-5 Wheel Alignment (Dishing Tool)
Park Tool Bladed Spoke Holder
Park Tool Missing Link Pliers
Cable Tensioner Tools (forget which brand)
Parts:
Shimano Brake Cable Ferrule/Cap
KMC Missing Link
Zipp Valve Extender
K-Edge Pro Cain Catcher (for the qxl rings on the TT/Tri bike)
Stronglight Chainring Bolts, Double
Fizik Bar Tape
Some Cheapo Brand Cloth Bar Tape (for spare/backup bike)
Other:
Zoot Tri Transition Backpack
Topeak Medium Aero Wedge Seat Pack with straps
I was luckily able to sell my wheelset from my Tri Bike (stock ones) for a decent price locally along with some other items on ebay to pay for all of this along with some Amazon Gift cards I have that I got from rewards programs. Plus, the Arts Cyclery Gift Card back on purchases helped pay for other things too along with another 5% back from Discover on online purchases on top of that. Now if my other stuff would sell (the items I recently purchased replaced things which are now for sale) I can fund the rims and spokes for a new wheelset (have the hubs and brass nipples already along with an extra set of tires/tubes too).
