Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Its scaring me that i've heard more and more of these stories lately. I'd say you're the man for still being able to pedal after a hit like that, hope you're all healed up soon!

When I read the title of this thread I thought I must be in the cyclocross forum, except over there a lot of the answers would be, "Of course, I've had to clean blood off my bike...it was mixed in with the mud and sand." But that's a fun way to get blood on your bike. This...dang! That's terrible. Heal quickly.

I didn't read all of the posts but DAMN!

I want to punch half of the posters in the face! Why would drinking (from what I understand in moderation) cause you to be hit in the face with a bat?

Keep in mind I am against drinking in general and I find this stupid

Glad you made it out ok and kept on riding, I would have stopped and got my ass kicked

Yes. Plenty of times. In fact, more often than I would like.

Seriously, what's wrong with people? I'm also amazed at all the posters convinced their tingly spider sense protects them from such a completely random act. "Yeah, I'm totally aware of my surroundings and this would never happen to me. Oh, and I'm clairvoyant, which helps."

Heal fast, and I'm glad things didn't turn out any worse.
