No one on this forum could hang with them for more than maybe 10mi. I don't see how they're hipsters either, given that nearly everything has a purpose. Lastly, MADBALL is in their movie. How the HELL are they emo?
Granted all the hype is a little crazy but in the end its a bunch of friends with a camera out riding bikes. Whats the problem?

I could tear through traffic and not stop once, but I'm not an idiot and I have nothing to prove, so I dont.
If I want to actually watch a film of impressive cycling with people that I know for sure I could never "hang with," I'll just pop in my copy of A Sunday in Hell.
and last I checked, a "hipster" is a bourgeois fashion/trend monger. I think it's safe to say that MASH is at the very least half-way to hipsterville.
and MADBALL sucks as much as emo music.

Garrett (of MASHSF): Between the track bike and road bike, I ride somewhere between 200 and 250 miles a week. The majority of those being done on the weekend, on the road bike. Since MASH’s debut, I’ve spent a lot of time on my road bike. I like to try and balance things by riding the track bike during the week, the road bike once during the week; and all weekend. The main aspects of my riding that were changed by the movie are trying to vary cadence and gearing in order to become a stronger cyclist overall. Whereas, prior to the film, I would do all rides - short or long - on the track bike, nowadays I use the strength-gains achieved by pushing a large gear to compliment the higher cadences I try to favor on the road bike.

I think they're strong riders and their videos are popular because they look like they're having lots of fun. People want to emulate that, and as such, it creates are consumer market.

They may be hipsters but they are fairly legit if you ask me. They DO ride hard. Call it reckless, stupid, or self-glorifying, but imo you just sound stupid if you deny they are strong riders.

The guys are doing what they do. Why worry about them? They're great at marketing themselves and public relations. They look like they ride pretty hard/strong to me. I don't even follow these guys, but respect for doing what they do and I'm sure they're responsible for getting a few people on bikes instead of driving around in their cars.

busting up on the sidewalk at speed with no reason, running lights for no reason, skidding for no reason other than to look cool....jackass as hell
I can't deny that they are strong riders, but they do ride like jackasses.
