Frame Badges
I know Milwaukee frames have this option and I absolutely love the aesthetic it gives.
When I first saw this I was thinking about making my own custom frame badge. But back in the day I had very little way to go about it.
I now have ability to make some high quality parts. I was wondering how many people would be interested in buying a frame badge.
Now its would be unpractical for me to produce these in metal. However, mass producing these in plastic would not to be that hard. Also means they would be easier to paint and allow more customization.
The frame badges would be made to fit 1 or 2 standard diameter tubes. And would probably be required to be epoxy on. (Other than water bottle bosses not sure how else it would adhere).
Now these wont be some handmade pieces of crap. They'll be 3D printed and very clean. Also due to the cost of making the original parts I can only make one or two different words/phrases. Possible badges; "Hipster" "Fixed Gear" "Track Machine" "Tarck" "Tarckster" "One Gear" Not really sure what to do yet, but if you have any ideas feel free to add them. Could even be uncommon things like. "Bombs Away" "Common Sense" "Chocolate" "Flight" (If I like it, I may potentially send a free badge.)
So again after all that the question is would you be interested in a frame badge? And if you are, the price range you expect these to be.
Thanks.

I would 3D model the badge. Then have the part 3D printed. Pretty much makes a plastic part of my model. Then I would make a mold of of the part. And cast multiple copies of it. The copies would be plastic as well. Then they can be easily painted. Which opens up the realm of customization to next level. You can even paint them "chrome" If you want the look of metal.

A cog and skull are easily do able.
Human heart in an awesome idea, but not sure how good it translate onces its on a frame, wouldnt allow it to be very big. Could also do a hang man, which might be kinda cool.
I could draw up some differnt shapes. However, text will usually lead to a larger (longer) frame badge.

i think custom headtube badges would prob create the most demand. not that the other tubes should be ignored, but i think that has the most potential to really stand out. both are great ideas.
cogs, skulls (with cross wrenches, instead of bones), probably some straight edge/hxc designs, various animals or animal heads, a piece of toast (had to try, right?)
for the VW crowd, im sure they would appreciate something designed after the turbo insignia that they jack off porsches and put on their dubs. even a VW logo maybe.
various letters, numbers, weed leaves haha
lol this could go on forever. you could start a legit business out of this...

I support this idea. 3-D printing is kind of pricey though. I used it on several projects back in college.

Yeah, which is why I want to try and narrow it down to something that appeals to a large crowd. Then maybe start getting more specific if there is a great deal of interest.
All great ideas. I could actually see the toast (prob with a piece of butter) being a sweet head badge.
