Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Hah ... my response was ... AWKWARD ...

Definitely preferable to the asshats who have pulled me over on my bike in the States though.

Looks like a PSA, but the more I ride and the stronger/faster I get the more I feel I need to invest in a helmet. I'm building a road bike that I'm going to assume is much faster than my fixed gear. I trust my body and my bikes fine, but I don't trust other cyclists or drivers out there.

I feel pretty stupid right now for not having a helmet.

The thing about helmets ... I dunno. I like to think I am not a complete tard, but riding without a helmet is 90% unjustifiably worse than riding with a helmet. I just can't bring myself to do it though. Between the sweat and basically looking like a tard ... hmmm ... :|

Rather "Look" like a tard by wearing a helmet than to become one from a head injury from not wearing one.

Anyone else think it is assinine for a cop to pull you over for running a red light at a deserted t-intersection?

Seriously, a t-intersection. :|

yes.... yes it is, but they'll do it anyway and convince themselves it's for the greater good.
Then on another day they'll wave you through the red your trackstanding at. sheesh make up your minds.

hugs and helmets, gotta love it

Denmark is a country with no law suits, moving violations, guns, vertical grates, obesity, or dog poop.

Everyone there rides bikes or unicorns.

Hehe what a "sweet" video. What country is that? Lots of good looking...uh..bikes

EDIT: Oh, Denmark. From what I remember there were a billion cyclists there in Copenhagen when I went 5 years ago.

I'd put up with an awkward hug from a total stranger in a police uniform if it involved a free helmet and not a citation and/or abduction.
