Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Actually, I'm debating between buying one of these 2.

Function vs Form

The top one looks too cluttered for my taste, plus the dowtube and seatstays offer nothing but additional weight and weker structure for the sake of "looks". A beach cruiser looks great with the curvy look, but that frame just doesn't look artistic.

The bottom pic looks purpose built and clean.

My opinion!

Yeah, but add the option for 45c tires, possibility of gears, disk brakes, all braze-ons, etc. makes for a pretty good commuter/light trail/training bike.

The Marinoni is sexy as hell, made in Quebec (gotta support local economy) and made out of high quality steel. Oh, and Miche parts to top it off.

Tough decision.
