Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

What size Surly Steamroller?

Hi everyone, this is my first post here!

I'm going to purchase a Surly Steamroller frame set but am still a little unsure of the size I should get. I've searched the internet & found a little info, including on here but not much.

I'm 5'9 & have an inseam of about 30 inches. I'm hoping for others with this frame or previous experience with this frame to reply. A friend has a 56 & it's too big for me. Not huge but def a little.

I'm positive my size is either the 53 or 49. Just unsure of exactly which one to go with.

Looking forward to your responses & suggestions.

The 49 would most likely be too small for you. I'm 5' 7" and ride a 53.

I'm 5'9 with a 33' inseam and I ride a 53 Steamroller with no problems. My previous fixed gear was a 55.
For reference, my road bike is a 54, just the top tube is longer.
The 49 will most likely be a small fit.

Go to your LBS; they can fit you and they can order the frame for you.
