Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

A cool art display but wouldn't pay for one to ride.

You were around for the death of Bauhaus?

Anyhow, from a design perspective, I don't think they took the idea far enough. And I particularly agree with whoever stated that it invokes department store retail clothing racks. In terms of execution, it looks a little shoddy to be an actual bike (as opposed to art).

There is this annoying supposition in our culture that since someone is an "artist" and what they do, they call "art," that is is therefore good.

Or that someone deserves the title "artist" for simply naming their works "art"

I really think it would be naive to get into a discussion of what is and isn't art here on BF.

Nah, just some kid who thinks he/she knows about the band.
Mis- and/or under-informed. Oh, well, ignorance abounds.
For the curious.

Right but contextually Bauhaus the band has zero to do with this topic. Not that the other meaning is entirely relevant either. But it's obvious that was the intent.
