Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Hello all, Just got my new single speed yesterday. Its my first one, though i have had lots of random vintage bikes back home. Ive also had a few road and mt bikes. So far i love riding this thing through berlin. Ive swapped out the bars for some nitto rb021's and put a new stem on as well. Im waiting to get a new chainring and saddle. If anyone in berlin sees me out, feel free to say whats up.

Yup, here it is. 09 Plug Racer

Chain is red, not pink as it looks in the pics.

Its an extra small. I have short legs, even though 5'7" I rode a small and the tt fit me better, but the standover didnt. Thats why i got the longer stem and bullhorns, now its super comfy for me to ride.

yeah the cable is just clipped to the top tube, super easy to remove the rear brake if you want.

That's a slick looking frame for sure. Not sure I'm a fan of the red/pink chain, but that's purely a personal taste thing, so if you like it, that's all that matters. Definitely a clean looking bike.

Came with the red chain, looks way more red and dark in person. Going to have to get a new chain with a new chainwheel anyways, so im just rockin it for now. Ill eventually flip it over to fixed and give that a shot, but for now im just rockin the ss.

I took a frame once to a powder coating place looking for that kind of off-chrome gunmetal look that you have on your bike. They said, "Sure, we can do that for you." I come back to pick up my frame a few days later and it looked like primer gray with a clear coat on top.

...hahahaha. That frame isn't painted, dude. It looks like that because it's clearcoat over bare steel.

That looks like chrome to me. A bare steel frame with just a clearcoat would have a very uneven look, with the weld areas discolored.

edit: Welcome to the forums Drunkard!
