Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? definitely fizik. it's the only white tape that can actually be kept white (not that it won't get dirty...but it can be easily cleaned).

i prefer thicker tape like specialized roubiax, but many seem to love the fizik microtex. i know is all preferance, but im curious and am thinking about giving it a try.
has anyone that normally prefers thick tape switched over to fizik roubiax?
with cables under the tape, would thick tape be too thick, or thin tape have annoying bulging?

fizik tape is mad comfortable. the black and colored ones have a weird feeling to them though. idk why they are different than the white tape, but it is. :\

the fuzzy kind sucks balls. you need to go with the synthetic leather kind that comes on the colored ones.

and god damn i love that bike.

yes. avoid the soft touch. the regular microtex is what you want. the metallic version also feels great, probably better than the regular.

I'm curious about this myself. I've got some Microtex sitting in my closet waiting for this relentless Profile tape to wear out but it doesn't seem to be ready yet. I'm a huge thick tape fan (and I ride with gloves) but I wanted to give the Fizik a try. The way things are going with this Profile tape I may never get the chance.

if you like thick tape (gross), then you'll hate fizik tape.

the trick with tape & cables is to have it run exactly where your fingers meet your palm. the bulge sits quite nicely there and isnt that noticeable when riding.

and I want to see more of that bike from the original post. looks hot. a Daccordi with 3T & Campagnolo...nice.
