I've been running a set of Soma Urban Pursuit bullhorns for the last year. I switched to drops a couple months ago, because I missed being able to tuck down and sprint when doing some laps. Since bullhorns kick ass for climbing, I've decided to sell the Somas and get a new set with more comfortable flat/ergo tops, that I can swap whenever.

I've narrowed it down to 2 choices: Profile Designs T2 Wing or Easton Delta Force. Both are around the same price, so that's a non-factor. I run a Tektro crosstop lever (same as Cane Creek, Salsa, Specialized) mounted sideways next to the stem, which looks like will fit on either.

Having 0 experience with either, and knowing nobody locally that does either, I'm hoping some of you have tried one or the other, or both. Is one better than the other?

I run the Easton Delta Force and have been very happy with it. If you look on eBay you can find it for around $30 shipped, brand new. That's where I found mine.

Thanks for the response. Hoping for more input from owners like you. There are ones on EBay with 26.0 clamp size for $40 shipped, but I need 31.8 Cheapest I've seen anywhere else is $58 shipped.

What about the carbon version, it seems to curve down to the sides.

I'm using the Profile bar. I like it, but I now have a 31.8 Profile stem to match using a shim for my smaller clamp area. They're nice, but even with my old stem, they flex a little on climbing. I doubt you'd have the same problem with a 31.8 bar.

The carbon ones are crazy. The tops are true wing shaped, not just flat, actually shaped like an airplane wing. The "pod" kind of things on the ends look really cool too. They popped up on chainlove a long time ago for about half of MSRP and I flipped one on ebay, so maybe keep an eye out on some deals on these bars.

That downward curve would be nice, but I don't like how the corners are sharp. It limits you to only 2 positions, either on the tops or at the ends of the bullhorns. Sometimes I do like to hold the bars on that corner. Plus that's way more than I'd like to spend.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from the looks of it, you're running the Air Wing, and not the T2 Wing that I'm inquiring about. Either way, appreciate the input.

dang i was contemplating which bullhorns to get soma or t2, but i couldn't find t2 in stock in, in the city. so i opt for the soma.

Nothing wrong with the Soma since it's not expensive either. Looks like a Nitto replica as far as I can tell. I just want something more comfy.

I have the T2 wing and have used it for a good six months. It's a great bar and has undergone numerous abuse without any incident.

I am also running the T2 and like it. I had not seen the Easton when I had found a good deal on the T2. I had Deda bars on my Bianchi Pista Concept 2006 and did not enjoy them. Comfortable for me.

Oh also, do you guys mind sharing where you found deals on it? So far the cheapest I've found is $66 shipped for the T2 Wing and $49 shipped for the Delta Force.

My son's got the profile bars on his bianchi, and likes them. We had an extra 31.8 Ritchey stem from another bike, so I got the adapter to make it work with the threaded fork.

old road bars chop plus flop = recycling bars to get the same effect.
-as long as the bars aren't past the end of their fatigue life.

Not even close. Road bars have channels for brake cable routing on the underside of the flat ergo tops.

I just said "some" as a disclaimer since I haven't seen every single one out there. All the ones I've seen are like that. Having that groove facing up completely defeats the purpose of the comfortable flats I want.

The questions asked in this thread are very specific, so there's really no need for soapbox preaching in this one...plenty of other well-deserving threads for post-whoring.

i'd go for the delta force. the tops look more comfy than the profiles.

So far from my searching all over, and this thread, I haven't heard anything negative about either option, in regards to things like durability, flex, comfort, etc... I'm probably leaning toward the Easton at this point, since it does look a bit more ergo and happens to be a few bucks cheaper too.

I've been riding the T2 Wing. I like them, but some people may not like the wide top part. They are compatible with internal cable routing, which you might take into consideration. Not sure if the other ones do that. Got mine from bike island for 45 bucks shipped.

yeah the airwing looks kinda like a squished can on the tops imo.

but that's coming from someone who hasn't ridden either. they're probably both super comfy with bartape.
