Great price, that's for sure. Just wish the tt didn't slope up like that. Yeah, it's an aesthetics thing, but a dealbreaker for me.

Sloping top-tube is what he said-meaning our compact road type geometry. This is a lot more comfortable for the average rider, but doesn't have the true "track" traditional look.

We understand this- but our market is entry-level riders or people who want a solid chromoly frame for bike polo, etc.

Hope that helps! And (by the way) our new frames are due to land today- Scrambler V2 with some nice mods from last time and more included (headset, seatpost, seatclamp) Also have white instead of just black!

hey eightinch.com... i know this is another dealbreaker right here but its PROBABLY the only thing besides that tt angle that is holding people back from buying.

What is the WHOLE bike made of? Are they different metals for different parts ( top tube, down tube, seat stays ) , and what type of chro mo are used? (number)

its a bit blunt but WE ALL NEED TO KNOW... and just outa curiosity.. who makes the headset, seat clamp, ect... that comes with the frame set? Thank you......

chances are it's just butted 4130. For $150 you shouldn't be bugging about tubing though, you get what you pay for.

Hey- great questions. The frame is straight-gauge 4130 Chromoly except for the top tube- which is butted. The headset, clamp, and seatpost are all standard alloy- non-branded, just made in Taiwan by the same companies that make a lot of the mainstream brands.

We actually sold out our first shipment last year super-fast and a lot of the objections to geometry disappeared once people rode the frames. They are very comfortable and able to run with the big boys as far as bike polo and even tricks. We are obviously after the low-price market- but honestly you won't find a big difference between this and a lot of the other brands that are more well known.

Also- FYI- we are receiving our first 100 frames today of the V2 model- which has some improvements- and another 600 frames are on the way- due in a few weeks!

Wish it came in smaller sizes, though. If so, it'd be at/near the top of my list for an upcoming build for my gf.

I'm not too familiar with track geometry, but the 49cm and 51cm geometries seem a bit funny.
the virtual TT for the 49cm is longer than the 51cm.
size wise the 51cm is the smallest, 49cm is bigger than 51cm.
oh well, that's a limitation with all 700c wheeled bikes.

also there's a typo on the 53cm, says chainstay length = 349mm, where the rest is 394mm
