Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Simple straight bar SS?

I'm looking for a basic, inexpensive but not cheap single speed with a straight bar. Think Trek Soho S without the price tag. What are my best options to buy new?

you could always just buy something like the kilo TT and then put some straight bars on it. Bars are cheap. You can get straight bars for ~20 bucks.

Also, I heard that urban outfitters is selling bikes that come with straight bars. I would highly recommend them.

bike of choice, don't limit your choice based on a 10-30 dollar part.
