Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

bike polo wheels

So I'm thinking about playing some bike polo with a crew around here & I have the perfect frame (an old schwinn varsity) & am wondering the best place to find some craptastic wheels to throw on this bugger. I was thinking of some 20" mag wheels but they won't fit in the drops.

Anyone have suggestions/thoughts?

i would try to find someone who's upgrading/replacing their wheelset and then cover the wheels up
like a roadie or ssfg'er dropping some old 700c's

20" wheels on varsity? pedals are going to be scrapin'. Old 26 + 27" wheels are a dime a dozen if you know where to look (ie. the dump).

There's a set of 48h Deep V hoops for $40 on ebay. And the hubset for 48h I believe is only $100 from ben's cycle.
