Installed freewheel, chain tension is weird now?
I have been riding fixed for a while- a 15 tooth 1/8 cog in the rear, with a 3/32 chainring in the front. With this fixed setup I was using a 1/8 chain with no problems.
Now I decided to install a bmx style 16 tooth 3/32 cog on the otherside of the hub, and still using the 1/8th chain and the 3/32 chainring up front.
it rides fine, but if I watch the rear wheel spin off the ground, I can see the chain tension in one area-
and when I am walking the bike with the freewheel, the pedals dont move, until this one point and then they move a little bit... then stop..then move a little bit more-
however when riding, there seems to be no issues.
is this alright? or should I be worried?
is the 1/8th chain ok to still use, or do I need to switch to a 3/32 chain when using the freewheel?

This didn't happen when you had a fixed setup?
The only time I have seen the tension in the chain when spinning the wheel is when the chainring is a little bit out of round. Is it possible your freewheel is wonky?

If you have a bit of uneven drag in the freewheel, it will make it look like chain tension is changing when the wheel is spinning freely. When the freewheel drags a bit, it will want to pull the chain (and therefore cranks), creating slack on top and tension on the bottom of the chain.
Shouldn't be a problem.

You'll have little imperfections in any single speed like that, and I've built up a lot of SS bikes. Don't worry about it.
