Cowboydan and I are definitly doing it. He got another girl on a singlespeed langster or something and wants to get a singlespeed team together.
When I find out some more info, I will PM you with it... if there are a bunch of us, it may be nice to ride together ... at least for a while.
Do you know anything about the "no brakes" rule? Will they let us enter if we show up on a brakeless track bike? Or will someone make a big deal out of it? I have a front brake and was considering putting a back brake on just to be on the safe side. I know they want you to have a helmet, but I wasnt sure about brakes.

ok.... here is the team page.... It turns out they did start it up, but there are only 3 of us registered right now. I think this would be awesome if a BUNCH of Philly Fixed gear/singlespeed people joined up. So... spread the word.... I think this is going to be awesome.

I'd like to do it, but I dont know if I'm up to that kind of ride yet. Are you guys doing the whole 150? And what kind of pace do you plan to keep?

They cant keep you off the public roads (but then again, they could keep you from the chowing at the stops).
For what its worth, in my experience, noone ever makes a big deal about brakeless bikes, until the rider points out to the world his bike is brakeless. 2 types of riders in the MS rides - out-of-shape warriors who dont know a coaster from a fixed, and the mapai militia who's too into themselves to give someone w/out spandex the time of day. neither group will ever notice your bike.
Personally, the idiots i've seen in these rides, I wouldnt want to ride brakeless.
