Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

soma ss mtb

Has anyone heard anything about these? Cost wise? Release-date wise? Quality wise? People seem to like their soma's on here...

https://www.somafab.com/4one5.html

I spent the weekend at home with my buddies who were on their monocogs and i've got the itch for an ss mtb to compliment my fixie. I'll take any suggestions.

Release date seems to be up in the air according to this post on MTBR from 3 weeks ago.

Haven't seen a single Soma in these parts, but I'd like to check them out. Seems like sensible stuff for a decent price. Kinda like Surly, which you see a lot of around here.
There's a few On-One MTB's around here too, which is a UK co. that fits in with the rest of these: decent stuff for a decent price. The Kona and Bianchi single speeds rank right in there too and you can get them complete.

I would not use disc brake on it unless you never change your gearing around.
