Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

That does seem a bit much! But $2,250???? I could "fix" up my wife and kids with track bikes for that price!

I dunno, quality frame, quality components. The gold isn't my thing, but a phil hub is a phil hub. I'd bet the bike rides pretty nice. $2250 does seem a little steep, but it wouldn't be the first over priced item to sell on flea-bay.

he should cut that price in half and let people bid for it. the gold coloring is all screwed up anyway...for over $2000 it should be flawless.

Assuming the seller built/assembled this bike... the guy could have easily spent $2500 on the bike and he probably wants 100% return on his investment. The frame alone could be upwards of $1500, plus ~$250 for the paint job, another ~$80 if he anodized the hubs himself (i.e. he didn't buy them that color), plus an expensive saddle, crankset, pedals, hubs, et cetera. It all adds up.
