How's the quality on American Classic hubs?

I need a 24h rear, and just found that American Classic makes one.
Not cheap at $133, is the quality there to back it up?

Just to add in here, I love my Paul hub. The one thing about it I don't care for much is the 45mm chainline it gives me. Just be aware of that.

Why would they set it up like that?
The rear is going on a bike with sugnio 75s and the MS-68 BB, which I believe is 109mm.

you might want to check out the group buy for novatech FG hubs if you don't mind waiting.

Yes, American Classic hubs are top-shelf stuff. I've built these hubs onto two sets of carbon rims that are being used at the international competitive level at the moment. They won a few Belgian six-days this winter, as I recall.

As good or better than Paul.

I have a set of american classics. I do not think there is any better for the price. I wish I could afford a set of their high end wheels.

my AC track hubs are good quality but, the lockring, bolts and washers could be alot better!
I don't dig the 3/8" fasteners either, would rather have 9 and 10mm bolts.

the daily durability of american classic products is often sacrificed when they are optimizing for weight.

Sounds like the opinions are generally pretty positive. I think I'll pick one up in a bit.

It's going in a lightweight alloy/carbon rim with 24 spokes, I imagine I might have other problems first.

True enough. The wheels I built were all track-only. I have no idea how they would hold up to street riding, except that they're made of good forged materials and cartridge bearings.
