Kilo TT compatibility questions
I want to buy this All City crankset:
Arm Length: 165.0 mm
Rings: 46
Spindle Interface Type: Square Taper JIS
Spindle Length: 110 mm
Chainring BCD: 144
Bolt Pattern: 5-Bolt
Crank/FD Type: Single Ring
Chain Compatibility: 1/2" x 1/8"
Pedal Spindle: 9/16"
which (I think) is compatible with this Shimano BB:
BB Shell Width: 68 mm
Spindle Interface Type: Square Taper JIS
Spindle Length: 110 mm
BB Thread Type: English
except I can't figure out if it will fit on a Kilo TT frame, which comes with this BB:

AFAIK.
My questions: can I expect the All-City cranks and Shimano BB to fit together? Does a matching spindle length mean compatibility between parts? Does the Kilo TT frame require a specific spindle length? I know it has a BB drop of 60 (mm, I assume), but I don't know what that means as far as compatibility.
From searching around these forums I found out that the frame has English threading and 68mm bracket width/shell? So I guess that aspect of the Shimano BB is compatible. The rest I don't know.

okay, to simplify this:
the thing that matters when fitting the bottom bracket in the frame is the width of the cartridge. both seem to be 68mm, which is fine. It must also have the same thread pattern. All are english by the sound of things, so that's okay.
Now, for the cranks to fit on the bottom bracket it must have the same spindle type. So, square taper cranks only fit on square taper axles. You can take a splined bottom bracket and cranks off and replace it all with square taper bb and cranks or vice versa. Just as long as they are both the same
now, as far as the bb axle length, you want to try to keep this the same as stock to keep the chainline straight. If you're stuck with this, the LBS is your friend.
so, short answer, yes. go for the cranks and bb if you want. it should fit.

Thanks very much for the help. How crucial is it to make the chainline perfectly straight? Will I be able to adjust the position of the rear cog so that it lines up? Three millimeters seems like a small amount, but I don't want my chain to be in danger of falling off.

hey check this out, i'm in a similar situation. maybe this can add to your bag of thoughts on the matter.
i have a conversion with the following specks:
120mm rear spacing, 68mm bb shell, shimano 105 crankset with 110mm jis bb, 120mm hub w/freewheel.
this was set up with advice from my lbs. i want to get a kilo tt and move everything over. but i was also concerned about bottom bracket spindle lenght, as you said the kilo tt comes with a 113mm.
i was told that since the frame and the bb spacing were identical, the bb and crank should port over just fine and the chainline would be pretty much the same. granted,i haven't yet done this, but that is what i was told.
i think the spindle lenght is related to how the crank mounts to the bb. which might be why a shimano 105 uses a 110mm but the truvative must use a 113mm in the same frame.
