Knoxville FG Scene?
Haven't been able to find any fixed gear scene here in Knoxville, TN. I'm an undergrad at the university and have been riding my fixie for the past two years. Let me know if you ride around Knox or what you know about the scene here.
Thanks
Thanks

I just moved from Knoxville a couple months ago. There isn't much of a fixed gear scene due to all the hills but some of the younger urban folk do ride them downtown Try hanging out on Market Square or figure out when the weekly bike polo matches are being held. There is also a Wednesday Night Greenway Gran Prix on the third creek greenway that often has at least a couple of FG bikes.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Thanks for the help. I'll definitely cruise around gay street area more. I haven't really played much bike polo so I'll try and look into that. Mostly I just enjoy mashin it.

I just remembered- there is a Critical Mass Knoxville but it's mass is usually only about a dozen or so people (usually at least a couple FG/SS's show up). Nice folks though; and if you are into girls who don't shave their pits and guys who don't shave their faces- you'll really like this group . They meet @ WFP just under the sunsphere on the last friday of every month. I want to say @ 5:30-6:00PM but its been a while since I rode it so I'm not 100% certain.

I'm also undergrad at UT and have been riding fixed for about three years... I see some at the art building but there's not much of a scene, I can't ever find anyone to ride with.

there is a pretty decent bike scene there but as far as strictly fixed gear stuff there never seemed to be a whole lot. there are lots of alleycats, movies, events, etc. Check out the KnoxVegasBikeForum on yahoo groups, www.knoxvillecycling.com, or stop by https://www.tnvalleybikes.com/tvb/ to see whats going on
