I'm not relying on anyone. I'm just just asking for options. I don't have any pics of my bike right now.

But here's a list of what i've upgraded to:

Wheelset: Deep Vs laced to dura ace hubs (32h)
Saddlepost: Thomson elite
headset: Chris King
pedals: mks with toe clips

If whitekimchee has a pre-2009 Pista frame, he has a very valuable and useful frame.

Don't let go of that frame set.

Consider having the frame set powder coated creamsicle orange, celeste, dove gray, or some other color of your choosing.

Upgrade your wheels with aerohead rims and aerolite spokes.

If you go with velocity aerohead rims (much lighter than deep V's), you can get them in any variety of colors and match them to your frame, or complement your frame.

Get a Syntace stem.

How about a Selle San Marco composite saddle (less than 100 grams, all carbon and the most comfortable saddle I've ever ridden)?

Hang on to that Pista: after you powdercoat it, only people with a discerning eye will recognize (and appreciate) it, and it will ride much better than anything else so far nominated.

I agree with the guys who said to put that money into your pista.

The people on this forum who own a pista really love it.

I built up my BFSSFG IRO and I spent $1050 including the frame and I bought all of the best quality components - Sugino 75 cranks, Hand Built Fusion/Formula wheelset, Brooks Saddle, etc.

You already have the frame. You can have it Powder Coated to whatever color you want and still have enough to buy high end components - though it is not really necessary.

It makes sense.

Lace those hubs to some open pros and you'll see more performance gain than you would if you bought an NJS track frame. Not that it really matters, as others have correctly pointed out, because you really aren't riding the bike enough to notice.

I second the suggestion that if you want to spend some money on bike stuff, you'd be better off picking up a road bike, or something to broaden your bike horizons a bit. Perhaps a road geo single speed or a mountain bike.

Nothing left to upgrade on the Pista.

What I would do is to go in a different direction and get a more utilitarian bike. One that can haul stuff. Like lots of beer.

If you showed up riding one of these, you'd get noticed. And lots of coolness points.

Spending money is fine. Spending it for legitimate reasons is even better.

As a sidenote: throw an Aerospoke on that Velopizzawagon and I'll take 2!

Although there is absolutely no reason why I need a NJS stamped frame and I really have no idea why they are so great, I will get mad street cred for having one and make others envious
ok, this is pretty spot on.

I saw a lot of people in that MASH movie riding Concepts so they must be cool
with this groundbreaking critique no one would've seen coming, i will surely solidify people's opinions of me as someone really cool, someone who doesn't care about trends at all, in the slightest.. someone who will truly be accepted at non-hipster coffeeshops everywhere. (man, those hipsters are so uncool and unlike me!)

I'll mostly be riding to the coffee shop and bar
again, probably true.

ANYWAY everybody in this thread already said what i would. if you want increased performance, you are the bottleneck. ride more if you want better performance. once you ride a ton, then you can worry about changing out your frame and etc for the sake of performance. otherwise you're just changing stuff for comfort and style. which is OK if you have the money. do your own research on what frame you want anyway, there's a million threads on this very same topic.

I am going to turn this into a conversation about being a hipster because I'm not really able to think of people outside the terms of being hip or not hip. Even though no one in this thread said anything about anyone being a hipster. I often project my own insecurities on to other people in really obvious ways.

OP, maybe try an aero aluminum frame like Jamis Sonik?

I don't think you guys should rag on him for wanting a new bike. OP obviously considers his bikes as a fashion statement. When this fad has passed, cheap parts for the rest of us.

edit:

mate, I tend to agree with everyone else that an NJS frame is probably overkill.

BUT - if you would enjoy a nice track frame and you can justify buying it, there's no reason why not to. People here are right to say that a pista is a fine bike and is enough for you at the moment, but I personally think it is unfair to flame you for wanting something a little nicer. seriously, if you have the means, go for it.

that said, you should take into account what people say about compatibility of parts and suitability of the frame before you choose. good luck!
