Fender
I commute on my conversion bike, rain or shine, and when it rains it definitely sucks. I think a fender would help prevent the brown streak from my ass up my backpack. Anyone know of a cheap, decent looking fender that will attach to an old schwinn road frame?

a rear clip on should be pretty cheap...

Those clip-on things do nothing. Your shoes and pant cuffs will still be awful and filthy. Get real fenders.

My Planet Bike Speedez keep me quite dry on my kilo. I get a little spray on the tips of my toes from toe overlap, and a little on the cuffs from the back wheel spraying forward, but that is it. I constantly ride to school through rain/muck/wet leaves and the bike gets filthy, but i dont.
Here is a pic. Since you have clearance i would run full fenders for extra dryness. The nice thing about the speedez is you can use the rubber straps they come with or just use zip ties, so its easy on easy off.

Schwalbe Marathon 25 in the front. It looks beefy because it has actual tread on it, barely clears the brake. The back is a 28c Kenda, that i just abuse. Saving the other Marathon for the coming worse weather months.

If you really ride in all conditions, forget anything but a full-coverage fender -- there's really no comparison to shorter fenders or clip-ons. The Planet Bike harcores mentioned above are a good bet, as are ESGE/SKS chromoplastics. Just make sure to get the right fender width for the size of tire you plan to run. If you find them reasonably priced at a bike shop, you can often get them less than online when you account for shipping.
