best lock?

I was thinking about getting the bike registry chain with the upgraded lock. Is it long enough to lock up your front wheel plus the rear wheel and seattube?

Any other suggestions on good locks?

I like my new york chain. sits on my hips and i can lock up anywhere. it is heavy though. think of it as making you stronger.

I still didn't get an answer for my question about if the bike registry lock will lock up a front wheel, plus the rear wheel and seattube, without removing my front wheel.

It's 1 meter long. Use a measuring tape. Not all bikes have the same dimensions. I'm getting one too, and from my measurements it should fit, just barely.

Don't get a cable lock unless you want your bike to get stolen. All cables can be cut with ease by bolt cutters, with ease i repeat.

Do you live in a wicked area? SF? I dunno I live in Seattle and I went with an Onguard bulldog mini TC, I guess they're almost as secure as the Kryptonite mini's, but way lighter and cheaper. Use the sheldon method plus a cable through your front wheel if you want. When I use a Ulock+cable I'm gonna use my Master locking cable, that way thief has to cut through 2 locks to get the bike. And here for tips on saddle/post theft prevention.

Only potential issue with Onguards is an apparent slight history of their locks seizing, but hopefully they have that crap worked out somewhat by now, plus i don't plan on monkeying it. ie, do not force the turn if it doesn't want to go; make sure the key is fully inserted. Also a little graphite lock lube never hurt nothin.

Those chains are frickin heavy dude
