Technically it says "high resolution" however that too is a lie!

yeah, after looking at the specs, I went back to re-read it and realised they had been careful to not actually say HD, but when I first read it, that is what I had thought.

Either way it should be good for capturing rides - not a bad price either.

niice! Shoot something and post it.

Wonder how it compares to the GoPro cameras
http://www.goprocamera.com/
but the GoPro camera mounts are all real ugly.

LoL. Judging a camera based on aesthetics of the mount.... (gopro wide take some amazing footage for the price, a friend has one for adventure touring on his motorcycle)

As for the OP's camera, looks ok for playing around, but didn't see any type of advertised stabilization. I am guessing it is comparable to a Flip and a bit better than an Oregon Scientific. I looked up a few sample vids and it seems as though it distorts when there is movement....

I'm not judging a camera by the mount. I'm simply saying the mount is ugly. The GoPro IS a very nice camera. I never said that's it's not good. I said "i wonder how it compares." You can shoot HD and panaramic scans with the GoPro. My co-worker has one and the camera itself works great, there's no doubt about that.

EDIT: just saw the muvi link u posted. The distortion really made me dizzy.

Yeah, I kind of laughed at their tricky wording about "High Resolution" and what-not.

From what I've found online, almost all of the distortion and frame dropping are caused by using the low quality, class 2 SD card that comes with the camera. It seems that after people switched to a class 6 or even class 4 card, the problems were solved. I have an 8gb Class 6 card on the way with the camera.

I watched a sample video comparing the night footage and movement footage of this to the GoPro Wide, and this has much better quality at night, but slightly worse movement.

Price-wise, though, I think this will be worth it, as the GoPro costs about 3 times as much.

stealth

:lol:Plus, this is way more "stealth" than the GoPro.
