Local Anodizing Bike Parts?

Anyone know the rates to go to a local metal shop and anodize, say a drop bar?

nah ive been wondering this myself but i can't find anyone in austin who will do it. powdercoat is easy to find but not anodize. if it's a drop bar, why not just spray paint it?

Uh, I think by virtue of you asking LOCAL rates you are (unknowingly) implying that rates vary by locality... in which case, I would suggest using Google and doing your own due diligence rather than attempting to command an army of the masses.

Think about it: What you're asking for requires (1) Someone else to have anodized a drop bar at a metal shop, and, (2) Live in San Francisco.

I guess it's too much to ask for on BF for a direct answer on price range without getting bashed and referred to another source.
"oh look at me! I'm smart because I know how to use google! but I won't contribute to the thread, I'll just look smart for using google!"
and no, I wasn't emphasizing on local rates because it seems that that price varies sooooo much depending on your city or state, right? and plus its a whole conversion process too
wow, interstate commerce
and I was using a drop bar as an example so you know its not like a gd frame or something, you could have anodized a stem, cranks, seatposts, w/e rates will be sooo different just because it's a drop bar and not a stem, right?

and THANK YOU pancake4life for actually providing an answer

I forget what the names of the companies are but when i was into paintball there were many very good ano places (that did mainly paintball equip) that would probably be happy to do it. I also bet that it wouldn't cost as much as you think. A few of do laser engraving too...

IDK exactly but i'mma guess around ~80. maybe more maybe less but it should be reasonable if a company that does pb stuff does it.

i would seriously consider powder coating unless you really want some weird color that ppl don't really coat with.

EDIT: FOUND SOME

I would ask the places listed here. Some prices for just the body of a paintball gun is around 20 but with the irregularity of bars it may be more and the companies that seem to deal industrially have a min price of around 80. Just remember you'll prob get what you pay for. I've seen a lot of stuff done by oddpb and it's really good. example of what they can do with ano https://www.oddpb.com/Gallery/oddguns/plaid2.html

Just curious, did you happen to notice how many of those were in SF Bay?

Also, I'd like to add Grunt Bull Anodizing, they did an acid wash on my Karnivore and it came out great.
