Haha color change on my new seat

Picked up a new white Soma saddle and after only a couple days of use its now dyed a faint blue from my jeans... This annoys me, a lot.

Any way to clean this off and go back to my puurty white seat?

Either don't have a white saddle or wear white pants when riding.

There are all kinds of cleaning products (and bleach as a last resort), but unless you're going to stop wearing blue jeans when you ride, or buy a seat cozy, this is going to be a recurring issue, so you might want to make peace with it, and not let it annoy you "a lot".

dammit :(

I never wear jeans and my white Regal is still white. Don't use straight bleach on a synthetic seat or it'll get all dried out and start cracking.

try one of those bleach pens.

Hmmm, I think bleach is only okay for a leather saddle when immediately after you apply it that you apply some leather treating/restoring products on the leather to restore the moisture.... you can find it at furniture shops that sell leather sofas and etc.....

And honestly in my opinion, Soma should start developing some of their own saddles instead of making knock - offs..... I had some hahas when I saw Soma's "Ta-bo" saddle the other day at my LBS, you have to be honest the logos are in the exact same font and in the same places as a real one! :roflmao2:

mr. clean magic erasers are amazing. I used them to get 20 years of dirt out of my bmw e30's interior. should work on a saddle.

white shoe polish

Scrodzilla 01-02-10 01:12 PM

Bleach on leather is most likely okay. Soma saddles are synthetic.

Isopropyl alcohol. Works every time.
