    help needed identifying a frame

i got this frame from a friend of mine who had no use for it. he got it from someone else, who stripped off the paint apparently intending to repaint it but never did, and now he's no longer in touch. the tubing isn't perfectly round, sort of diamond/oval shaped like the felt fixed gear frames. i have no idea if the fork that's on it now is the original fork. i used to ride a eighthinch scrambler before it got stolen, and it definitely has tighter geometry than that frame. these are the only pictures i have for now but i can take more if anyone thinks it'll help. thanks in advance.

Maybe take it to your LBS, or enter the number somewhere on the internet? I know my advice is pretty obvious, but I was graced with an unrecognizable vintage italian frame. After using the internet, "the history of bicycles" from borders, and my LBS, i was able to determine the make and year. Good luck!

I agree it's just an older version before they came with a threadless headset and it seems like your friend had replaced the fork

I was being kinda snarky but now that I look at it more, I think it may actually be a Kilo (or a KHS Flite 100, which is also actually a Kilo).

No to be honest; I was going toward kilo when the OP posted it at first on the 5th... but I decided not to post as I felt a bit incorrect..... but then looking at it again...

All signs seem to point toward Kilo. The teardrop downtube and the dropouts look the same. If the seatpost diameter is 26.8 then you can be reasonably sure it's a kilo.

after doing some looking around and measuring the geometry, i thought it might be an iro mark v, as i know the older versions came with the teardrop shaped downtube and a threaded fork...any thoughts on that?

Has the iro mark V ever had those random bosses on the seat stays? Because the fram in your pics clearly shows them and the kilo tt is one of the only common SS with them....

good eye. i overlooked checking that against the mark v. im pretty sure the mark v has never had those bosses, so it looks like i have a kilo tt. dope
