Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Actually, I erred -- mine rear is not flip flop, and I have the silver rims, which are slightly less expensive. Still, $500 would be a reasonable price for these wheels, but I wouldn't pay more.

Bike Works built for me a set for $450 with 15 gauge double butted dt spokes and the CXP22 rims, more expensive items than on this set.

Are any wheel really worth it unless you are suiting up in lyrca and making big bank?
